When someone in Hyderabad searches for a doctor or a treatment, Google decides which clinics to show. You cannot buy your way to the top organically, but you can make your clinic easier to find, easier to trust and easier to contact. Here is how, in the order we would do it.
1. Start with the basics Google can verify
- Claim and verify your Google Business Profile. It is free and controls how your clinic appears on Maps.
- Keep your clinic name, address, phone number and timings identical on your profile, website and major listings.
- Choose the primary category that best matches your main service, and add secondary categories only if they are genuinely true.
- Add your real services, real photos and a link to the most relevant page on your website.
2. Give each service its own page
A single “Services” page rarely ranks for specific searches. Patients search for things like “knee pain doctor in Kukatpally” or “acne treatment in Madhapur”. Build one helpful page per important service with:
- What the condition or treatment is, in plain language
- Who the doctor is and their qualifications
- What happens at the first visit, and what it may cost or how to find out
- Honest answers to common questions
- A clear call, WhatsApp and appointment option
Write for patients first. Repeating “best clinic in Hyderabad” in every line does not help and can look spammy.
3. Build reviews the right way
Reviews influence both rankings and patient confidence. Ask satisfied patients, in person or by message, to share honest feedback. Do not offer incentives, do not ask only happy patients, and never write or buy fake reviews, which breach Google’s policies. Reply politely and avoid sharing any clinical details in a public reply. Our Google Business Profile checklist covers this in more detail.
4. Add Google Ads when the foundation is ready
Search ads can bring enquiries faster than organic work, but only if your website or landing page converts. Start with a few high-intent searches, such as a treatment plus your area. Exclude irrelevant terms, set a daily budget you are comfortable with and review the search terms report weekly. Healthcare advertising has Google policy limits and Indian medical advertising rules, so keep claims factual. See Google Ads vs Meta Ads for clinic leads to decide where to start.
5. Track every enquiry
If you cannot see where enquiries come from, you cannot improve. At minimum, set up Google Analytics 4, track phone and WhatsApp clicks, save website form submissions and ask reception to note “How did you find us?” on every new booking. We explain this in how to track clinic enquiries.
6. Reply fast
A good enquiry that waits hours often goes to another clinic. Decide who answers calls and WhatsApp, set a target response time and review missed calls daily.
Frequently asked questions
It varies. Fixing a profile and tracking can help quickly, while rankings and reviews usually build over weeks to months, depending on competition and your starting point.
Yes, a website lets you explain services, show doctor credentials and capture enquiries. It also gives Google more information about what you offer.
If you need enquiries soon and have a working landing page, a small search ads test can help. SEO and Maps work is slower but compounds. Many clinics do both.
